While, In the process of pursing study in
Kathmandu since 2048 B.S., I have been
dedicated to the upliftment of the indigenous communities by
disseminating awareness through mass media. Later on, I took another
step for the advancement of my community through journalism by
editing the magazine, ‘Raha’. As literature was indispensable to
make a language lively and simple, I added another brick in the
foundation of the Magar language by writing ‘Rewas’, the first novel
in Magar language. Then I wrote “Jeeb-Seem’ an anthology of poems,
and the novel ‘Mahanjau-Lumara’.
When
Nepal Magar Students Association was established during the Fifth
National General Convention of Nepal Magar Association in Ghorahi,
Dang in B.S.2053, with the objective of integrating all Magar
students for the sake of the welfare of all Magars in racial,
cultural and linguistic fields, I, as a founder member, managed to
unify all Magar Students in order to march forward for the rights of
indigenous people along with the main slogan, “Let’s all Magar
students be united, and disseminate educational awareness.”
As the
21st century is
the age of communication, European Union, after many years, has
fixed the slogan ‘Back to Culture’ up by realizing the significance
of culture. In my quest for introducing the invaluable property and
ethnic identity of the Magar Community to the International
Community, I've made movies based on Magar language and culture.
This is my Endeavour to guide the upcoming generation and preserve
the property of the ancestors. Previously the movie used to be
regarded merely as a means of entertainment whereas it, along with a
means of entertainment, has become a mirror of ethnic, cultural,
political and current subject matters at present.
I’ve
done whatever my conscience has led me to do for the development of
my community. Whatever I’ve done from my field so far is a very
small part of the contribution which most of Magars must render for
the empowerment of majority of Magars. To uplift Magars in every
field, all conscious Magars should adopt the spirit of
selflessness. Otherwise, the spirit of selfless social service of
only a limited number of Magars would turn into a castle of sand.
